Privacy, in plain English
Huddle is a party-game site for people sitting in the same room. We did not want to build a thing that watches you back. So we did not. This page is the honest version of what that means.
01 — Summary
The short version
- No accounts. No sign-up. No email required.
- No analytics, no ad networks, no cross-site tracking pixels.
- Game state is temporary. It disappears when the room ends.
- Your phone remembers just enough so a refresh doesn't kick you out — that's it.
02 — While the room is open
What we keep, and for how long
While a room is active, we hold the bare minimum needed to run the game:
- Your room code — the 4-digit number generated when the host starts a room.
- Your display name — whatever you typed at the join screen. Pick whatever you want; we don't verify it.
- In-game state — your role, your secret word, the score, that sort of thing. Only while the round is in play.
None of this is saved long-term. Inactive rooms expire automatically and the whole bundle is dropped. There is no archive, no export, no profile waiting for you next time.
03 — On your phone
On your phone
Your browser keeps a small note locally so you don't get bounced out when you refresh, lock the screen, or accidentally swipe to another tab. It's the room code, your display name, and your theme preference — nothing more. You can wipe it any time from your browser's site-data settings; the only cost is typing your name again next round.
04 — Tracking
Cookies and tracking
No tracking cookies. No advertising cookies. No third-party analytics — no “anonymous usage telemetry” that turns out to be neither anonymous nor only-usage. If a future version ever adds analytics, this page is where it gets disclosed first, and the defaults will respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.
05 — Third parties
Third parties
The site runs on a commercial hosting provider, which sees standard web-server logs (IP address, user-agent, request path) the way every site on the internet does. We don't aggregate or analyze those logs.
06 — Identity
Kids and accounts
There's no signup, no profile, and no way to attach an identity to a player. We don't collect anything that would let us tell whether a player is eight or forty-eight, and we're not interested in finding out.
07 — Contact
